Get to know us! Here's some photos and a little bit of information about the members of My New Obsession.

Connie Silverbrand, Vocals

Connie's musical experience dates back to early school days. The song selections for this band are tailored to Connie's voice, and she adds her own style to every single one. Because she's always enjoyed every selection in the repertoire, it's no surprise that she has a great time performing them -- and will make you want to get up and enjoy them too!

"This is a relatively new experience for me, but it feels like home already. I love singing, I love these songs, and I know that our fans will love them too. The confidence this group has given me is beyond words, and I'm enjoying every minute of it. This is truly a great group of musicians to work with, much like family."

Marc Funaro, Guitar and Vocals

Marc got his first guitar at age 12, and played in a few different original and cover bands throughout high school and college. Through independent study and a BA degree in music from the University at Buffalo, Marc acquired a practice and performance regimen for himself based on diligence, a focus on remaining true to the style being performed, and a strong desire for the "right sound". After graduating college, Marc actually took about 10 years off, completely away from performance and guitar. Says Marc:

"A 10 year hiatus seems extreme, I'm sure... but I needed it. I needed a 'reset' of my core musical values, and for me that meant stepping away from playing for a while, and focusing on other areas of my life. I spent a lot of time listening, though, and I knew eventually I'd come back to it. And I knew I'd surround myself with talent when the time came.

I cannot believe what a difference the time off has made. I am a completely different musician than I was in the 90's, with a completely different approach. I feel like I know who I am now, and what I want to do on stage, and best of all, I don't feel I have to hide or apologize for it. I'm playing the music I've always loved, and some music I never thought I'd enjoy playing, too. But best of all, I love seeing people enjoy this music... it is truly gratifying! And playing with this talented group of people? A real privilege."

Dave Burch, Bass/Keys and Vocals

A musician since age 5, Dave is MNO's newest member, returning to the stage in late 2011 after a 15 year hiatus to focus on work and family. During his time off, he continued to grow his musical talents from high school and college, focusing on the nuances that keyboards bring to the dance. Dave has several years of experience performing in the Rochester and Chenango/Broome county areas of New York. The concept of covering bass lines while continuing to add his own keyboard styles and textures to the band has been fully embraced by the group. With a renewed passion and drive to expand musically, Dave has welcomed the invitation and challenge to fill two roles, and looks forward to entertaining the many MNO fans at every show.

"Gigging now, after so many years away from the music scene, I've realized that I never lost the thrill of performing or that inner desire to grow musically, and I still thrive on that "connection" with the audience. Having to cover keyboard AND bass parts is a new challenge for me, but I welcome it and look forward to adding my own sounds and "flavors" to this group while expanding my repertoire and abilities. I certainly hope people will come out and experience the live vibe of My New Obsession – it’s something you don’t want to miss! As we continue to gel and grow together, I know this band will continue bring a sound and energy that is truly FUN, and showcases all of our talents."
